Titanium White 

Mars Black 

Phthalo Blue 

Phthalo Green

Neon Green

Magenta  

Raw Sienna

Burnt Umber 

Violet

Instructions:

  • Punch in white on bottom half of the corner of the sky

  • Lightly paint in raw sienna on top half of white. 

  • Mix Phthalo blue, white, and small amounts of black for denim blue in the remaining sky.

  • Scatter in magenta & violet on top of denim blue.  

  • Take a clean brush and blend colors together where blue & sienna meet. 

  • Water down white & flick in stars, use the back of the brush for larger stars. 

  • Mix violet, magenta, & white for back mountains, highlight with white. 

  • Cover ground with a mix of raw sienna & burnt umber. Gradually add raw sienna & white to mix for highlight streaks through hills & sand. 

  • Mix raw sienna & magenta for canyon cliff base color, highlight using a mixture of raw sienna & white added to edges. 

  • Throw in raw sienna & burnt umber mix too darker sides of cliffs. 

  • Paint in the large cactus with green/blue mix, streaking in raw sienna for highlights. 

  • Paint in smaller cacti with mainly raw sienna & small amounts of Phthalo green. 

  • Highlight all cacti with neon green & white mix once cacti are dry. 

  • Lay rocks down with black & white mix , streaking in white on top for highlights. 

  • Take white with a detail brush, add in final highlights on cliffs, spines on cacti, & rocks.
